This is so. While in their undead state they were able to receive the desires of a child, in truth, they were cheated of their own bloodline by Stagnate. They never got to marry, they never were able to consummate their love for one another, They actually were forced to see the deaths of their friends and the destruction of the city. They then did nothing BUT guard a seal of an undying monster in a dead town filled with undead demons who lurked in the sewers for hundreds of years... until the choice of choosing life (and their own demise) for a victim child proved to be their salvation.
